About me
Who am I and what motivates me?
Born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria, I have travelled to different countries, lived, studied and worked there, and thus felt more or less at home in various places. As I journeyed through life, my curiosity about how languages, cultures and interpersonal relationships shape us over time grew. I felt an increasing sense of motivation to explore ways to facilitate communication where it was needed, with the aim of making otherness more comprehensible and welcoming in the broadest sense.
Whether it is the gap between two or more people or the gap we sometimes feel between where we are in life and where we want to be and/or think we should be, an outside perspective, a form of translation of these apparent opposites, is often necessary to find our place in the world and feel comfortable where we are. In the present – perhaps not perfect, but our own.
In addition to my personal experiences, my professional identity has also been strongly influenced by my academic background and the multiple years of diverse working experiences in the psychosocial field.
